John J. Mylan, Esq. started his solo practice in Hoboken over 10 years ago with a focus on residential real estate closings which continues to be a primary focus of the practice. Mr. Mylan eventually expanded into doing commercial transactions as well. His practice has involved many aspects of real estate law including sales, financing, and leasing – across multiple property types, including office, retail, industrial and residential.
In the last few years, Mr. Mylan has further expanded his practice to assist smaller and mid-sized businesses and startups in navigating contracts between employees, vendors, clients, and other partners as well as give advice in other legal matters that would sometimes be handled by an in-house counsel. Mr. Mylan is always eager to learn about different types of businesses and industries and use his past experience to find legal solutions to unique problems or recommend outside counsel who may be able to solve such issues.
Mr. Mylan grew up in Essex County, New Jersey and now resides in Hudson County. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Clemson University and received a Juris Doctorate Degree from Widener University School of Law. Mr. Mylan has been a consultant for a number of prominent New Jersey law firms for various civil matters from real estate to complex civil litigation discovery matters. Mr. Mylan has also is experienced in maintaining commercial and residential tenant leases and commercial contracts.
Mr. Mylan is licensed to practice law in New Jersey and is an active member of the New Jersey Bar Association, Hudson County Bar Association, and Essex County Bar Association. He is also an active member in the local community.
